Fantastic Opportunities for Nature Friendly Farmers at RSPB Lake Vyrnwy

They are looking for experienced farm workers with practical, hands-on experience of sheep and cattle farming in the uplands to join an established team managing a 4800-hectare upland farm situated on the Lake Vyrnwy Estate, Powys. The farm, which is managed by the RSPB on behalf of landowner Hafren Dyfrdwy, is the largest organic farm in England and Wales with 5000 sheep as well as cattle and ponies. It is operated to achieve a range of important outcomes relating to sustainable land management, water catchment issues and conservation. We have two vacant roles: one is at Farm Worker level delivering hands-on livestock care and management; the second is at Livestock Manager level, leading the team of farm workers and being accountable to the Farm Manager for day-to-day livestock care across the whole site. Both roles requires proven practical skills and knowledge, experience of working in the uplands and access to trained sheep dogs. If you are interested in either roles please contact Jon Pike at jon.pike@rspb.org.uk for more information or follow this link: Farm Worker – Lake Vyrnwy | RSPB (vacancy-filler.co.uk)
