Did you enjoy our AGM weekend in Caernarfon?  Was this the first time you attended?

We caught up with Caryl Jones, Chair of the 2023-2024 Marketing & Events committee to find out more about the planning and organisation surrounding the Wales YFC AGM weekend.

“Last year, following the appointment of Caernarfon as the AGM venue, the Events and Marketing Committee had been actively organising the weekend for Wales YFC members.

On the 20th of September over 150 members from across Wales travelled to Caernarfon for the Wales YFC AGM weekend.  The weekend kicked off at Market Hall pub in Caernarfon with ‘Boncyrs Bingo’ led by DJ Bystach.  Everyone loved the bingo night, with the well-known songs getting everyone on their feet to dance and enjoy!  There were a large selection of prizes to be won during the evening and thanks to Ani-Bendod for sponsoring the main prize which was a ‘Cowbois Cymru’ top.

There were several headaches Saturday morning but on with the meetings. The Wales YFC AGM was held during the morning, with sub-committees during the afternoon. On behalf of the Wales Events and Marketing committee I would like to congratulate everyone on their new appointment as part of the Wales YFC team of officers.  Every good wish to you for the year ahead.

‘Cowboys’ was the theme on Saturday night and Wales YFC cowboy hats were available to complete the outfit for the evening. Thanks to all the pubs for their welcome during the weekend, everyone enjoyed a little tour of the town and all ended the evening at Copa.

Sunday morning everyone had the opportunity to meet outside the Galeri at 10 to go for a walk and a chat before turning  for home. A chance to catch up with some of the members, discuss what’s coming up in the organisation’s calendar and a chance to clear heads before getting back on the bus!.
