Wales YFC Teams Up with Save a Life Cymru to boost CPR Awareness and Defibrillator Access
Wales YFC is proud to announce an exciting and life-saving collaboration with Save a Life Cymru, strengthening our shared commitment to improving CPR awareness and access to vital lifesaving equipment across rural communities.
As part of this partnership, Wales YFC has been generously gifted a defibrillator from Save a Life Cymru, now installed on the front of the Wales YFC Centre. This is a valuable addition to our building, providing increased safety during large events.
But the impact doesn’t stop there.
In an inspiring move to engage and educate members, Save a Life Cymru has also provided an additional defibrillator for Wales YFC clubs to compete for. This initiative aims to encourage CPR education and awareness among young farmers across Wales, ensuring more communities are equipped to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a cardiac emergency. It is a powerful step forward in building safer communities where every second counts.
Launching 1st June: CPR Video Competition
From 1st June, Wales YFC will launch a competition open to all members. Clubs will be invited to take part in a campaign designed to spread lifesaving knowledge across the organisation.
The competition will begin with a CPR demonstration video shared on Wales YFC’s social media channels, highlighting how to perform CPR and the importance of acting quickly in an emergency.
Members will then be encouraged to share the video on their own social media platforms. Supporters will be asked to complete a short online form and vote for the club they would like to see win the defibrillator.
The club with the highest number of votes will be awarded a defibrillator for their club.
Why This Matters
Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. In rural communities especially, access to a defibrillator and confidence in CPR can make the difference between life and death before emergency services arrive.
This campaign is about more than competition – it is about education and empowering young people with the confidence to act when it matters most.
Through this partnership with Save a Life Cymru, Wales YFC is proud to be helping ensure that lifesaving skills and equipment are actively used, shared, and understood across our communities.
Get Involved
We encourage all members to get involved and help spread this vital message. Whether you watch, share, learn CPR, or vote for your favourite club, your participation could help save a life in the future.
Together, we can make Wales a nation of confident lifesavers.
