Community Spirit Shines as 150 Take Part in Ceredigion YFC Chair’s Challenge

On Saturday 3rd April, 150 members and friends of Ceredigion YFC came together to complete the Chair’s Challenge, which involved walking 18 miles around the Mydroilyn area, the local area of the County Chair Angharad Ann Evans.

We caught up with Angharad to hear all about the day…

“Despite a bit of rain during the morning, it was a wonderful day. The walk started at Mydroilyn Hall as we made our way up to Gorsgoch, Dihewyd, Neuadd Lwyd and Pencae, before finishing the walk in Llanarth at the Llanina Arms Hotel.”

The purpose of the walk was to raise money for the Chair’s chosen charity, the Wales Air Ambulance.

“We live in a very rural area and goodness knows who will need the Air Ambulance next, so it is very important that we support this special charity.”

“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support leading up to the walk and on the day itself. It was lovely to see participants from almost every club in the county and a wide range of ages taking part, some as young as 7 and some over 65+. Special thanks to the members of the Mydroilyn and Dihewyd hall committees for allowing us to use the halls and for providing tea during our lunch stop. Special thanks also to a number of local businesses for sponsoring water, sweets, fruit and ice cream for the walk to keep members going. Special thanks to the Llanina Hotel for the delicious food at the end of the walk – everyone certainly deserved a meal after the walk.”

“An incredible amount of money has been raised for the charity, and I would like to thank everyone for their generosity.”
