Announcing ‘Ni’n Sgwennu Nawr’ – A New Literary Voice from Welsh Rural Youth

An exciting project is seeing the light of day as a new literary collection by YFC members is being published. The volume is the result of a series of in person creative sessions led by the well-known authors, Anni Llŷn and Bethan Gwanas. Ni’n Sgwennu Nawr will be launched at the Winter Fair on Monday 24th November 2025.

Following a series of writing and idea exploring workshops, the members were mentored to develop their writing craft under the expertise of the two skilled writers. The volume includes a variety of works: short stories, dramas, monologues, and humorous recitations, and provides a platform for young voices that are often under-represented.

The content was edited by Bethan Gwanas and Anni Llŷn, with the book cover being designed by Elin Mair Roberts of Clwb Godre’r Eifl, Eryri YFC. ‘Ni’n Sgwennu Nawr’ is a testament to the literary potential of our rural youth.

The launch will take place on Monday 24th November at the Winter Fair in the Wales YFC Centre at 3pm. The member-led event will be a celebration of the voice of a new generation of writers who are bringing the experiences of rural areas to the centre of the literary stage. Join us to celebrate their success and get a taste of the book. This initiative was financially supported by the Welsh Books Council and Creative Wales and a sincere thank you to them for their support.

The book can be purchased on the Wales YFC website, Sebra or at your local bookshop for £9.99. It will also be available for purchase at the launch.
