Flower Power for Wales YFC
Wales YFC members Blossom at 2025 NFYFC Floral Art Finals
Wales YFC members were on top form at the 2025 NFYFC Floral Art Finals, held at the Malvern Autumn Show on Sunday 27th September. They didn’t just take part, they stole the show, winning all three age categories!
The competition, known for its creativity and high standards, brought together the best young floral artists from across England and Wales. But it was the Welsh competitors who really stood out, impressing the judges with their skill, imagination, and eye for detail.
It’s a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for Wales YFC – well done to everyone involved!
Blossoming Talent in the 16 & Under Category
One standout star was Einir, representing Carmarthenshire YFC, who captured the spotlight in the 16 & Under category with a stunning floral creation based on the theme ‘British Isles’. Her design was bursting with colour, creativity and meaning, featuring bells, leeks, roses and thistles to represent each of the four nations.
At just 15, Einir wowed the judges with both her technical flair and natural eye for design. She’s already dreaming big, with hopes of becoming a professional florist, and after this national win, she’s definitely on the right path.
“It’s a massive achievement, I can’t believe I got here really,” she said. “Where I’ve come today -I don’t think anything can beat it.”

Lois Leads the Way in the Under 21s
In the Under 21 category, Lois from Pembrokeshire YFC took the top spot at just 16 years old, competing against much older finalists.
Working with the theme ‘European Cities’, Lois chose Seville as her inspiration. Her design was bold, confident, and bursting with colour, featuring oranges in the vases, paired with roses and gerberas in vibrant yellows and oranges.
“The oranges and the yellows are very famous in Seville, so I used oranges in the vases and roses and gerberas for bright colours,” Lois explained. “I got the greenery from my food tech teacher at school!”
“I find it very therapeutic because I’m just by myself doing it.”
Her calm approach and creative thinking clearly paid off!

Ella Completes the Sweep in the Senior Class
Wales YFC’s winning streak didn’t stop there. Ella Harris, the current Wales YFC Senior Member of the Year and a proud member of Teme Valley YFC in Radnor, took the top spot in the Senior Floral Art category – completing the trio of Welsh victories.
With the theme “Down Under”, Ella went beneath the waves for inspiration, creating a vibrant display based on the Great Barrier Reef.
“I chose a variety of flowers and foliage, different textures and colours,” she said. “I even included some fish to make it bright and vibrant.”
A seasoned competitor, Ella began her floral art journey at just 12 and has worked her way through every age group in the competition. Now she’s passing on her skills to the next generation.
“It’s been a really nice journey – it’s a hobby that I’ve taken further,” she said. “This year I competed in the Open Section at the Royal Welsh Show for the first time, and I’ve started to train our junior members, so it’s lovely to give back.”
“Without YFC I wouldn’t be flower arranging – it’s all thanks to the competitions, the coaching, and the senior members who inspired me.”

From newcomers to seasoned pros, Wales YFC’s floral artists showed the strength of the organisation and the creativity it helps nurture. Their success on a national stage is not just a moment to be proud of – but a sign of blooming talent for years to come. It’s a powerful statement about the strength of floristry talent within Welsh clubs and counties, and a moment of pride for members, supporters, and leaders across the nation.
