Wales YFC News

For the first time this year, Y Stamp Publications will publish a pamphlet featuring the winning entries for the Chair and Crown competitions at the Wales YFC Eisteddfod. As the host county of this year’s Eisteddfod, members of the Ceredigion committee have worked in collaboration with Cyhoeddiadau’r Stamp, sharing a common passion for supporting young talent and ensuring that young writers receive the platform, recognition and opportunities they deserve.

Subject to the work being deemed worthy of publication, the volume will be available for sale immediately after the double award ceremony on the Pavilion Bont stage, Pontrhydfendigaid, on the afternoon of Saturday, 21 November.

Y Stamp Publications firmly believes that young writers not only deserve to have their talent and potential celebrated and rewarded, but also deserve readers for their work and opportunities to get published. We have been able to offer these things to the main literary prize-winners at the Urdd Eisteddfod for around three years now, and we are extremely grateful to the members and officers of Ceredigion YFC, who are hosting this year’s Wales YFC Eisteddfod, for inviting us to discuss and bring to fruition their idea of publishing the winning entries.

Artist Sara Lleucu, from Llangwyryfon, has been commissioned to create the cover artwork.

As Y Stamp Publications is a small, independent, volunteer-run publishing house, we always ask those who are in a position to do so to consider pre-ordering their publications. This helps them meet the increasing costs of producing and publishing printed material.

By pre-ordering a printed copy, you will also receive a PDF of the winning work by email, immediately after the winners’ names are announced from the Eisteddfod stage.
