Members from Ceredigion YFC show support for Sioned’s Chairs Challenge

On Saturday the 5th of April, 160 members and friends of Ceredigion YFC came together to achieve the Chairman’s Challenge of walking from Lampeter to Aberaeron along the 21 mile walking route.

We caught up with Ceredigion’s Chair Sioned Davies to hear all about the day…

“It was a wonderful day with the sun shining all day. The walk started at Lampeter RFC, making our way to Silian, Barmeurig, Trefilan, Talsarn, past Brynnog to the Cambrian Nurseries Crossroads up to Giliau Aeron and then over to Llanerchaeron and along the route to Aberaeron finishing at Aberaeron RFC.

The purpose of the trip was to raise money for our County Chair’s Chosen Charity. Sioned’s Charity of Choice was the Memory Fund for Geraint Hatcher. Geraint was a former member of Pontsian YFC, a former leader and former president of Llanwenog YFC, a former president of Ceredigion County and more than anything a friend to all! The money collected will be split between the fund, the County and the County clubs.

I would like to thank Dalton ATV’s in Talsarn for letting us use the site for their lunch break, Brecon Carreg for sponsorship of water bottles, Castell Howell for sponsorship of sweets, Kangaloos for the use of the portaloo along the route and to the support crew who were there to assist us with crossing the road and with all the snacks! At the end of the challenge we had wonderful food in Aberaeron from Cegin D.A. The money has flowed in and we would like to thank everyone for their generosity towards the journey. The Just Giving link is still open until the end of April so if you would like to sponsor the crew it would be greatly appreciated.
