Montgomery YFC to host the 2025 Wales YFC Eisteddfod for the first time since 1999

The Wales YFC Eisteddfod is hosted by a different county federation each year. The Wales YFC Eisteddfod has been held in various places such as the Brangwyn Hall – Swansea, William Aston Hall – Wrexham and Venue Cymru – Llandudno to name just a few.

The Eisteddfod is one of main events in the YFC calendar with around 700 members from across the country competing in four key sections including Homework, Light Entertainment, Music and Recitation. The Young Farmers Eisteddfod is the only bilingual Eisteddfod of its kind in Wales, giving members the opportunity to perform in both English and Welsh.

This year Wales YFC are extremely excited to announce that the 2025 Wales YFC Eisteddfod will be hosted by Montgomeryshire Young Farmers Clubs for the first time since 2010 and hosted in the county for the first time since 1999.

We spoke with Lynfa Jones, our Eisteddfod Chair, to get the latest update on the plans and preparations for the Eisteddfod, which will be held on Saturday, 15th November, at the Hafren Theatre in Newtown. “We look forward to welcoming you here to Montgomery in November, as a committee we are coordinating the rules and set pieces. We look forward to filling the stage with a variety of talents from all over Wales.”

Previously, the Wales Eisteddfod hosted by Montgomery YFC was held in Aberystwyth, but this year the federation is thrilled to bring the event to the county itself. “We are delighted to welcome the Wales YFC Eisteddfod to Maldwyn this year! This event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible talent and passion of our members from across Wales. It is an honour to host, and we look forward to welcoming you all to Maldwyn in November!” said Ffion Jones, Montgomery YFC County Development Officer.

The event is also broadcast on S4C, attracting 68,000 viewers throughout the day and 10,500 session viewers on iPlayer and Clic. You can catch up on the programme via S4C Clic or BBC iPlayer.
