Record Breaking Applications for Wales YFC’s International Programme
On Sunday 8 October, members from across Wales made their way to the Wales YFC Centre in
Builth Wells for Wales YFC’s International Selection Day.
Three trips are in conjunction with ‘Rural Youth Europe’ (RYE) to meet other members from youth forums all over Europe. The first is to Budapest for a spring study seminar where two members will travel next April. The second trip with RYE takes place next July, where five Wales YFC members will travel to Estonia for the European Rally. The final RYE trip will take place next October where two members have been selected to represent Wales YFC in Latvia!
Next June, 12 members will go on an unforgettable trip to Canada. The tour will start in Vancouver and then end in Calgary for the famous Calgary Stampede.
In July eight members from across Wales will travel to Isle of Wight for a 4 day adventure to enjoy the views of the island. The tour will include the opportunity to meet like-minded members and enjoy excursions to local farms and attractions including a day out at the Royal Isle of Wight Show. 10 adventurous members will go on the YFC Mystery Tour to explore a city in Europe for 5 days, appreciating the sights and sounds of their destination but won’t know where until they’re on the plane.
In August, 8 YFC members will travel to the south of Ireland for the opportunity to meet local farmers and enjoy the culture and scenery of Cork. This 4 day tour will be filled with sightseeing and agricultural visits.
The judges would like to thank everyone who attended the selection day. The standard was
exceptionally high across the five panels. Well done to everyone who was fortunate enough to
have a trip and, to those who didn’t make the cut this time, they would love to see members apply again next year!

day. It was no easy task, so we would like to thank them for their time and hard work. There was a record breaking 95 applicants for the 2024 International Programme.
