Royal Welsh Show week began in the best possible way on Saturday evening, 18^th July 2026, as Wales YFC welcomed current members, former members, supporters and friends of the movement to its 90th Anniversary Dinner at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd.

What better way to kick off one of the biggest weeks in the agricultural calendar than by bringing together generations of people who have all played a part in the incredible story of Wales YFC?

Guests enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Fingers and Forks while reminiscing, sharing stories, laughing with old friends and celebrating everything that Wales YFC has achieved over the past 90 years.

Since it began, Wales YFC has provided countless opportunities for young people across rural Wales. From developing new skills and building confidence to making lifelong friendships, competing, volunteering and, above all, having fun, the movement has shaped the lives of generations of young people.

For many, their time in YFC remains one of the happiest and most influential chapters of their lives, creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

As Wales YFC celebrated this remarkable milestone, the anniversary dinner provided an opportunity not only to reflect on an incredible 90-year history, but also to look ahead to an exciting future. The values of friendship, learning, community and personal development remain at the heart of Wales YFC and continue to inspire new generations.

Reaching 90 years is a truly remarkable achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated in style. The evening was filled with memories, laughter, great food and wonderful company as guests celebrated the past, the present and the future of Wales YFC.
