This week, Tiers Cross YFC from Pembrokeshire welcomed Martin from the Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity for an informative and heartfelt evening. Martin shared valuable insight into the incredible work Sandy Bear carries out within the community, supporting young people and their families as they navigate the challenges of grief.

The visit also marked a very special moment, the presentation of a cheque from a charity auction the club held back in November.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity and support of everyone involved, an astonishing £7,720.81 was raised on the night. The total left members absolutely gobsmacked and incredibly grateful to everyone who donated prizes, placed bids, attended, or helped organise the event. Every contribution played a part in achieving such an amazing result.

The funds raised will go directly towards helping Sandy Bears continue their vital work, ensuring that young people and their families have access to the resources and compassionate support they need during the most difficult of times.

Sandy Bear was chosen as the charity for a very personal reason. The club wanted to express their heartfelt thanks for the support given to Martletwy YFC following the devastating loss of a valued member.

While nothing can ever truly make up for such a loss, the way the YFC community has come together has been deeply moving. The kindness, generosity, and unity shown throughout has been a powerful reminder of the strength of community spirit.
