Welsh Talent Shines at the NFYFC Entertainment Finals
For the first time ever, the NFYFC National Entertainment Feast Final was hosted on Welsh soil at Theatre Hafren in Newtown, and it couldn’t have been a more fitting celebration of the country’s vibrant Young Farmers’ Clubs community.
Representing Wales were Erwood YFC and Dyffryn Tanat YFC with two outstanding performances centred around Mental Health. Erwood YFC, representing Brecknock, claimed a brilliant first place and Dyffryn Tanat YFC from Montgomery secured an impressive second. Dyffryn Tanat also picked up two separate awards. ‘Best Moment in Theatre’ for their exam scene, while Iwan, who played Luke, was awarded ‘Best Performance in a Lead Role (10–17)’. To see two Welsh clubs dominate the top spots at such a prestigious national event was not only a proud moment for their counties, but for Wales as a whole.

The atmosphere throughout the competition reflected months of dedication, creativity, and teamwork. Both clubs demonstrated exactly why YFC entertainments remain such a powerful platform for young people to express themselves. Their success felt even more special given the historic setting – Wales hosting this iconic event for the very first time.
It wasn’t just the club performances that brought success home. In the highly competitive Member of the Year competition, Welsh participants once again proved their calibre. Sian Davies from Radnor was placed third in the Senior Member competition, showcasing her commitment to YFC. Meanwhile, Elin Williams from Ceredigion achieved joint second place in the Junior Member of the Year category, highlighting the strength and promise of the next generation within the movement.

Adding to the celebrations, there was further recognition at a national level as Sarah Lewis, a former Wales YFC President, was elected as NFYFC’s Deputy President. Her appointment reflects her dedication and passion to the movement.

All in all, this year’s finals were more than just a competition – they were a statement. Wales not only hosted the event with pride but also excelled across multiple areas, from stage performances to individual accolades and leadership roles. It’s clear that Wales YFC members continue to make their mark, and if this event is anything to go by, the future looks incredibly bright.
